The SOS was formed as a non-profit organization in Saskatoon in 1983, and was the province’s first orchid society. Its founders were interested in the conservation of orchid species both native and non-native to Saskatchewan. There are now approximately 70 members in the society. Yearly memberships are $25 per individual, or $30 per family. Membership forms are available at each meeting, or can be printed off and brought to any meeting.
